Window Cards

I am still having a great time with the Cuttlebug! One thing I've found that is a lot of fun and quite easy is to make window cards. All you do is use a die (I use Spellbinders nestabilities) and cut a window out of the front of your card. Then cut a piece of transparency (I use cheap office transparency) to fit the back of the front side of the card. In this case, my card was a 5x7, so I cut a 5x7 piece of transparency and adhered it with vellum adhesive to the inside. The sentiment is on the inside of the card, but shows through the window. I also used vellum adhesive to adhere the flowery die cut to the front of the card.

When you're done it looks like a pretty fancy job! Of course you don't have to use transparency for the window, but I think it really adds a professional touch. TFL!

Finally a nice weekend

After cold and rainy weekends, this one looks like it's shaping up to be nice! It's still a bit chilly out, but the sun is shining and after all the rain we've gotten, everything is so green and flowery. Last night, Levi and I moved two big bunches of lilies to the front yard and planted them around the front of our porch. They were in a weird place in the back yard and there was nothing planted in front of the porch, so that solved two problems :) We went to Menards last evening as well and looked at all their garden stuff. It smelled so wonderful! I love greenhouses and garden centers.

Sherbet Challenge at sb.com

One of my critique groups at sb.com is doing a Sherbet color challenge and here is my LO.

I think I may add another title in pink Thickers above the buttons and below the rub-ons, it just doesn't seem complete yet. I don't know, I have to look at it for another day and see if it grows on me.



I love the colors though, I've been using them all spring if you didn't already notice, LOL! I used my new butterfly die for the Cuttlebug. I just love that thing, I've been using it like crazy. I love how you can have so many different looks with the different butterfly embossing folders or just leave it plain.

Hi everyone, notice I did NOT wait a week to post this time, so hopefully all is forgiven by the thousands of people who come and visit my blog on a daily basis...LOL! Well anyway, the 2 of you who visit my blog, I'm back! :)

This is actually a card that I did 3 weeks or so ago. I tried taking a photo of it on at least 3 different occasions and could not get a decent shot. I don't know what it is about this card, but it does NOT photograph well at all. This shot is semi-ok, but you really can't see the details and it just doesn't look like it does in real life. But I'll share it with you anyway, because I give up on it!

The "hello" sentiment is from the Crafty Secrets "Tea & Coffee" stamp set and the butterfly is from Verve Stamps "Fluttering By." The lace at the bottom is a border stamp from Clearly Inspired. I used white Sea Foam embossing powder by Ranger on the butterfly and the border, plain black Brilliance on the sentiment. Just a simple Swiss Dots finish on the white circle, and a bit of layering. Very simple card actually. Oh, and the ribbon is from Luxe. They have the prettiest color combos.

In other news, I'm going to be selling my cards at a Country Decor and Gifts store in the downtown area! The owner seemed pretty excited and that made me excited. She was glad to be able to sell locally made cards...and I'm happy to sell them, hehe ;)

Wow, sorry about that!

I can't believe a week went by and I didn't update! Now in my slight defense, this weekend was our Easter (called Pascha) and so we were pretty busy. I have also been working on new Scrap 'n Art items for the July/August issue, so I can't share any of that. Hopefully this next week will be a little more productive for the 'ol blog!

Hobby Lobby has their inks 50% off this week, that is one of the best sales EVAH! I probably need to go today if I'm going to get anything because by the end of the week it is so picked over. I don't really need a lot, but I realized I no longer have any brown dye ink and that is a huge staple for me. In order to actually go to HL though, that would mean I have to get dressed. DRATS! I'm still drinking coffee! Ok, maybe in an hour ;)

Anyway, this is a card I did a couple weeks ago and submitted to a mag. Well they never contacted me so here it is! So is the papercrafting life. I used Cosmo Cricket's "Honey Pie" paper, that stuff is so cool. I cut out the scalloped oval and the circle with my Spellbinders, the pale pink die cut behind that was done on my Silhouette. The white paper is embossed with the Cuttlebug "textile" embossing folder and the ribbon is from HL. Part of my bag o ribbon that I got (30 yards of ribbons for $1.99) The sentiment is from JustRite Stampers.
